Euro 2024: the competition is over!
Euro 2024, organised in Germany, took place from Friday 15 June to Sunday 14 July.
At the end of a competition rich in emotion, it is finally Spain who will win the trophy, 12 years after its last title. La Roja, solid defensively and led by a promising attack thanks to its young talent, succeeded in beating England 2-1 in the final at the end of a match of madness. The English suffered another defeat in the final, and finished runners-up in Europe once again, as they did in the previous edition of the competition in 2020 against Italy.
On the strength of their record, Spain defeated Georgia (4-1) in the Round of 16, Germany (2-1) in the quarter-finals, France in the semi-finals (2-1) and England in the final (2-1). A remarkable run and a richly deserved victory for La Roja, who have now become the most successful nation in the European competition (with 4 trophies), surpassing Germany (with 3).
